PURPOSE

iGugu Sustainable Freedom Project exists to provide survivors of Human Trafficking and community members with skills development (sewing and small business development skills).

The project assists with poverty alleviation in providing a means of income and the ability to reintegrate back into society with their dignity restored and as fully contributing members of society.

The iGugu Project takes place at the MeCAHT Reintegration Center in Cape Town, South Africa and every product stands for another step toward sustainable freedom.

THE PROGRAMME

The programme will allow for training from 3 – 6 weeks. Thereafter, should the candidate decide to stay on, they will have the option to stay on for a year. They must complete the entire programme (we also have the option to end the programme if the candidate does not meet the agreed-upon terms or breaks the terms of their contract). After they have completed the programme, they have the choice to either purchase their own machine from us at a really reduced rate to start their own small sustainable freedom business or they can continue to work full time with us.

During the time of training, after the 6 weeks, they will continue to work a full week should they wish to continue as full time.
